Importance of The Resource box
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Oct.16, 2009, under Article Writing
Normally when an article is published it will describe the product or topic in detail. Articles should contain a resource box which is a kind of signature that describes who created the article.
A resource box, also referred to as the signature box is the author’s bio that is provided with articles that are submitted to article directories.
A good resource box should include your name, your website address your unique selling proposition and a call to action (to attract people to buy your product). However, quite often it generates very little traffic due to an inefficient resource box.
Two of the main problems are;
1. The resource box contains irrelevant links when it should contain links back to your website. This is necessary when readers like your article they may want to read more about what you have written.
Quite often people use irrelevant links for various reasons which ends up sending potential traffic away from their website.
2. The lack of a good reason to click on your website link is another reason. Quite frequently readers need a good reason other then the content of the article or even the product itself to attract them to your website.
Basically they want to know what the advantage is to them to visit your website. Give them a reason, describe a free report or discount that is available when they visit your website. The thought of something free can be reason enough for readers to check out your website and generate more traffic.
The goal is to drive traffic to your website so put some thought into the resource box and don’t just throw it together.
