Internet Marketing Information Overload
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Apr.23, 2010, under Hans Kristian Anderson
Whatever internet marketing system (product) you decide to focus your time, energy and money on, try not to get distracted.
If you’re new to internet marketing, you will find that you will be searching the web for information. You will sign up for free information on someone’s site or post a comment on a blog, leaving your name and email address behind.
I know, I’ve done it and I still do it.
Not only will you read about different internet marketing products and mentors from the web, you will start receiving information by way of email.
Most of the email that you will receive contains good valuable information. If you choose to stop the emails from coming, just click on the “unsubscribe” button. But that’s not really the problem.
The problem is after you have chosen the product or system you want to focus on, information overload can kick in.
I found myself spending too much time reading about different systems and products, when I should have been spending more time working on the system that I had already purchased.
That’s not to say that you shouldn’t purchase products that will benefit you and the system that you have decided to learn.
Don’t let yourself get distracted. You will make changes as you go, but stay with your initial course of action, after all most of these systems are not cheap.
Another thing I found myself doing was checking my affiliate statistics two or three times a day, hoping to see at least some impressions. If I happened to see a click (no money) I was all excited.
The truth is you will never get the second click or the one thousandth click before you get that first one. But constantly reading about new systems, checking your statistics two or three times a day on various affiliate websites is not going to make this happen any quicker. When in fact your just wasting valuable time. Time that should be spent writing articles, blogging or any other productive activity that will benefit the system you have already chosen.
One way to control this is to set aside a specific time period to read about new products and check your affiliate statistics. Personally I like doing this just before I go to bed after I have put productive time into my business.
Once you have made the decision to invest your time and money in a particular system, stay with it. You owe it to your self to give it an honest try before you decide to make any major system (product) changes.

Dear Hans,
you have described in your words in what kind of an information over-dose one might end up and I totally agree. I have spend hours and hours, days and days, weeks and months and fortunately not yet years, scanning the web for information about marketing and I have come across s*** load of people all trying to convince me to buy their product. Some succeeded, most got dumped – because their selling and their products were far from beeing a good deal. But I am still eager to make this kind of selling products my way of living.
Which information marketing expert do YOU think is the best? And if you find it hard to pick up just one, let´s confine the question to marketing via video. Whom would you recommend?
Greetings from the north of Germany

Dear Mirko,
If I had to choose one marketing expert and his products I would have to go with Armand Morin. Armand is very well known and respected in the business. Like all internet marketers he is trying to sell and promote his products, but he also offers quality free information. Armand’s “Internet Marketing Newsletter” is a great example as is the free Internet Marketing Training Calls being offered with the Promotion of the “BigSeminar”. Armand’s affiliate program is second to none, with great products, a fantastic 2 tier affiliate program, training and on going support. I’ve also done more post on Armand and his products then on any other system or marketer. I like the way his videos are professionally set-up and the way he carries and portrays himself. If you would like to read my other post on Armand Morin and his products CLICK HERE
Mirko I hope this answered your question. Whose products or internet marketing expert do you like.

Thanks for your fast reply and your passionate marketing of Armand Morins work Hans,
and as I am always open minded I will dig a bit deeper. I appreciate your recommendation.
My answer: Frank Kern. Really the first in the flock to whome I started to build trust, and I am still doing so. I reckon his video marketing to be by far the best as it is both entertaining and instructive – probably also because he reminds me of my alter ego as a windsurfer in the south of Spain – those good old times when I felt completely beeing in a flow!
And I want to get this feeling back. So, Yes!
I will have a closer look at Armand tomorrow.
Talk to you.
