Before you break ground on that big mansion up on the hill, here are a few mistakes many new affiliate entrepreneurs make that you’ll wish to avoid.

5.  Believing the buzz

And yes, I do mean the hype promoted by your personal plan. Those earnings projections that each plan makes are just that, projections. If you believe that you will attain all of your goals in your first few months of the plan? Chances are you have set your goals to high (or way to low) and are setting yourself up for disappointment. You have to look at affiliate marketing as a long term venture, not a way to get rich quick. That’s not to say that it is not possible to make money quickly, just don’t let your expectations run away with you.

4.  Expecting instant success with little effort

Expect to work at your business and expect to work at it daily. If you opened a store in your neighborhood, you would be working everyday, this is no different.

3.  Lack of a strategy, and specific goal setting.

You will have to have a strategy, with clear, measurable goals. Many people join affiliate programs with the vague objective of wanting to create a lot of cash. How much money? How fast do you want it? (Be practical at this point, creating a million dollars in one month is not realistic) and how are you going to get there. Once you know exactly what your goals are it is now time to determine and record exactly how you are going to get there.

2.  Marketing your affiliate website link

Now it is time to promote your affiliate links. Creating your own website to direct traffic to that contains your affiliate links is one way to go. Building a list and then marketing your affiliate products to your list is another way. (Halloween Super Affiliate review).

1.  Quitting

You have been working your affiliate program for two, three, maybe even four months now. with very little to show for it. You’re starting to get discouraged and beginning to wonder if this really is worth pursuing. Pick your self up, dust yourself off and get back at it. Don’t quit. No one ever achieved success by quitting. Neither will you.
