What is Craigslist?

by Hans Kristian Anderson on Nov.30, 2009, under Traffic Tactics

Hi welcome back.

If you have never heard of it you might be asking what is Craigslist.

Well, it doesn’t matter if you are selling a one-time product, a small business owner with many products or services to sell, or any entrepreneur or Internet Marketer — if you’re not using Craigslist, you are missing out on a tremendous opportunity to drive traffic to your website.

Craigslist.com is among the highest-ranking sites on the Web today, serving more than twenty million users every month.

Craigslist is different in that while it does offer a forum, it is also a place where people can promote and sell. Craigslist allows users to post classified ads to a community bulletin board.

Most users can place ads free, although there are charges for certain services in certain locations.

As more and more people turn to the Web for their purchases, Craigslist is rapidly becoming one of the most important places people bookmark.

Remember, most ads placed on Craigslist are free. Even when you do have to pay for ads, usually you will pay far less than you would if you paid for an advertisement in a local paper. More and more people are turning to the Internet to find what they need, whether they want to find a job, a home, a new car or your products.

Craigslist provides a great opportunity to advertise your products and drive traffic to your website.

Mexico City Swine flu and Earthquake

by Hans Kristian Anderson on Nov.29, 2009, under Hans Kristian Anderson

Most of the world had been focusing on the swine flu epidemic that was hitting different parts of the world, Mexico City having been one of the worst hit.

With the swine flu epidemic plastered all over the news, millions if not hundreds of millions of people are thinking about Mexico today.

Then an earthquake with a 5.6 magnitude shook Mexico City that very same day. Is this a coincidence or the power of all that energy focused on one area. The Law of Attraction if you will.

On Oct. 17th 1989 the San Francisco Giants were playing the Oakland A’s in the World Series of baseball in the bay area. A large population of the world was watching or thinking about the event. An earthquake measuring 6.9 magnitude shook the area.

Did the energy or thoughts of so many people help to trigger these earthquakes. Some will call it a coincidence, I don’t.

I’m not about to tell you that I am an expert on the Law of Attraction because I’m not, but I do believe in it. I believe in the power of energy, the Law of Attraction and that our thoughts become things.

What ever our goals are in life there are forces at work to help us succeed, we just have to believe.

Twitter Traffic for Your Blog

by Hans Kristian Anderson on Nov.28, 2009, under Traffic Tactics

Twitter traffic is another very useful way to get more traffic to your blog.

When you post a simple post (or Tweet as it is called on Twitter) to twitter you can have lots of readers visit your blog from Twitter land. Blog feeds will do the same thing, but this is another way to find new readers from twitter or remind current readers to re-visit your blog.

When you blog, you’re speaking to your readership from afar. You write your post, make corrections if necessary and then post it. During all of these actions, your removed from your readers. But when you use Twitter to communicate, it can become a conversation, allowing you to connect with your followers. You can show more of your personality to your followers and truly communicate with them on a different level. This can get them more interested in you and your blog, which will build more traffic, over time.

Personally this is something I need to work on a little more, I have a Twitter account (my user name is HansKristian) with over 6,000 followers, but I have not yet succeeded when it comes to making any real personal connections with my followers. At least none that I am aware of.

In order to stand out amongst all the of blogs and Twitter accounts online, you need to develop an image for people to connect to and identify with. Building your brand can be accomplished through your blog and by using Twitter you can further your branding.

Decide what your persona or approach is, and then make sure your twitter posts (Tweets) mirrors that. You need to figure out what makes you unique in your niche and then extend these differences between you and others in your Tweets on Twitter.

With you have a Twitter account, your target market can be right in front of you. You can discover their interests, by asking them about their needs and automatically get ideas for future blog posts.

In conclusion, it would be to your advantage to open a Twitter account and get access to another resource of traffic.
