Great Advice From Brian Terry
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Jan.17, 2011, under Brian Terry
The Internet has given those with the ability to produce an informational product a big edge, however.
Here are the steps needed to establish an informational niche market website on the Internet:
1. The first thing to do is to choose a topic… a theme…
a subject that your product will be concerned with. The trick here is to get the topic narrowed down as far as it will go.
Go from the general topic of dogs down to small dogs down to Poodles down to Toy Poodles… down to how to groom a toy poodle, for example. The more specific the topic, the better it will perform.
Choose a topic that will help people solve a problem, make their lives better, and make them look better or feel better or give them specialized information that they need.
Choose several narrow topics that you are interested in yourself.
2. Research the market available for the topics you have chosen.
There are many avenues open to you to accomplish your research. Ask questions.
Visit websites with topics that are similar to the topics you have chosen.
Read articles.
Learn everything you can before beginning the construction of
your informational product.
3. Once you are satisfied with your topic, have done the research and determined that there is a viable market for your idea, the next step is to choose a domain name and buy it.
There are several places on the net to buy domain names
one is Godaddy.com but it isn’t the only one out there.
Choosing a name is usually done by the process of elimination.
Make a list of acceptable domain names that describe the topic of your website. Start with the one with the least number of letters in it… less than 20 is better.
4. The next step is to get a host for your website.
There are hundreds… more like thousands of companies that host websites.
There are free ones and ones that are paid for.
There are a variety of options.
You will need to do some research and choose the type that is best for you.
In very general terms there are shared host servers, dedicated
servers and your own servers.
It is not practical to try to detail the options in one article.
5. Other than your own informational product you need to choose related content for your website.
There are many many places on the Internet to find content for a website dedicated to almost every topic under the sun.
Some content is free for the taking…
some must be bought.
You can write or video tape your own website content.
You can have content written by others.
Content is the backbone of your website and this isn’t the place to cut corners.
All content needs to be relevant to the theme of your website.
It is best that it be original as well.
6. Find and sign up for affiliate programs for products and services that are related to the theme of your informational product.
7. Build your website creation. In times past you had to know HTML code and how to use it to build a website but that is no longer
the facts.
You can find WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) programs that you can use to build your website without needing to know the first thing about HTML.
8. Advertise your informational product.
There are many ways to do that but the most common way
is by using Google Ad words to get started.

Aquatic Caveman
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Oct.08, 2010, under Brian Terry
In 1982 Steven Callahan was crossing the Atlantic alone when it struck something unknown and sank…
He was was adrift and alone, with very few supplies. His chances of survival were slim to none…
Yet 76 days later 3 fishermen found him, he was still alive (just a lot skinnier).
He had learned to live like an aquatic caveman with the few provisions he rescued from his original boat…
The story he went on to tell was incredible…
The way he managed to beat the odds by finding new ways of catching fish…
And even being able to fix his broken solar still to convert sea water into fresh water.
In all he told there’s one thing that caught my eye…
How he managed to keep himself going when all hope seemed lost…
When everything seemed to go against him…
When there was no point in going any further…
When giving up would have seemed the only sane option.
He found a way….
It was all down to his attitude….
Steve said, “I tell myself I can handle it”
“Compared to what others have been through, I’m fortunate. I tell myself these things over and over, building up fortitude….”
The truth is no matter what you’re going through right now with your online business (or life in general) always tell yourself
you can handle it…
Compared to what others have gone through you’re fortunate…
It might be tough building that email list or getting the traffic you need, or even getting the sales you deserve.
As long as you keep telling yourself you can handle it you will eventually win…
…just as Steve Callahan did.
Here is your life line…
All the best!

Niche Marketing Concepts
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Sep.30, 2010, under Hans Kristian Anderson
Brian Terry understands that deciding on what product or service in a niche market you will promote should be based on one simple principle.
Your product or service should be in demand.
You want to offer something that people actually need, something that will make their lives better, make them look better, make them feel better physically, or help them solve a problem.
Once you have chosen a product or service to market, researching to find the right niche for your product or
service is the next most important part of beginning a Niche Marketing program.
The things that you need to know are where they spend their time online, and what makes them tick from a personal and business point of view…
There is Niche Marketing software out there that can help you learn these things about your potential niche market.
The next thing you need to learn as you research your online niche market is what you can reasonable charge for your product or service.
The best and most effective was to do this is to visit sites that advertise products or services similar to what
you have chosen to sell.
It should be easy to see if they are giving away a service or selling the product at a price far lower than you would have to charge.
If you can determine that there are people out there who are willing to spend money to buy what you are selling and you can identify those people then you have a Niche Marketing product or service that can make money on the Internet.
Sometimes it takes reframing your product or service to make it more attractive, better or just different than what others are selling it for.
Research is the key to successful Niche Marketing.
Check out what Brian Terry has here that will help you to make this all the more easier…

Going To Hell In A Handbasket? By Brian Terry
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Sep.24, 2010, under Brian Terry
What happens when your website fails?…
When your traffic dies?…
When your subscriber numbers drop off
to zero?…
…and your sales go down the drain?
What practical steps can you take to turn things around for yourself?…
The first thing you need to do is look at is the niche market you’re in.
Are your competitors suffering the same
fate as you?
You can get a good idea of this by looking how many Google AdWords ads are showing up for your main keyword phrase in Google’s search pages.
The reason for looking at Google AdWords is because as you probably know already…
…your competitors have to pay for each click they get on their ad.
If they’re paying for their traffic they simply must have a profit model in place.
Otherwise why bother?
Right?
If there are only a handful of AdWords ads on your search page then all might not be lost.
What you need to do is look at how those top advertiser sites are structured.
What are they selling? How are they selling it?
Are they focusing everything on building a list first?
They might have just found a way to make a profit from the exact same keyword your site is going to hell in a handbasket with!
Let’s say there are only a few Google AdWords ads on the first page for your websites main keyword phrase.
…Or maybe there are dozens of ads going over several pages, it doesn’t really matter.
Visit each of those top 5 sites that are advertising, find out what they’re selling that’s making them the money.
Pay close attention to the advertiser in the #1 position and see if they use the exact same ad each day for a week.
If they are then that ad is likely to be making them money, that’s a great clue for you to follow!
Make a note of the domain name then go to Compete .com and type it in.
You’ll then see how much traffic they get each month and what their main keywords are.
When you’ve done this go to Alexa. com
and do the same.
What we’re doing here is finding out who the big players are in your market…
Then we’re deconstructing their approach so you can model their success.
It’s as simple as that.
The problem with your website and it’s failure could be down to some very basic things.
By understanding the structure of a successful website in your market you’ll get some valuable insights into how you can get things quickly turned around for yourself.
On the other hand… if there are zero AdWords ads on the results pages for your keyword it’s time to pick another market!
FAST!
Or at least find another keyword that generates profits for others, then just re-optimize your site for that.
Competition is good, it means there’s money to be made, so always keep this in mind.
Above all remember…
…success leaves clues!
When you find those clues follow them, apply them to what you’re doing and success is sure to follow.
If you think none of the above applies to your website you’d be dead wrong!
You can apply this exact same advice to any website and take it’s profit pulling power to the very next level.
Have an awesome weekend!
Brian Terry
P.S. No matter how well your website is doing…
Now is the time to give your competition a good thrashing…
