Website Or No Website…That’s The Question
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Jan.24, 2012, under Affiliate Marketing, Hans Kristian Anderson
Website
Do you want to make money through the Internet but you don’t have enough experience or capital to start your own online business? You don’t have to worry, for a lot of online marketing options exist for you to start with. One of these options, and shall I say the best, is affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing provides first time online marketers like you the chance to market something online even without having your own product to sell. All you have to do is to sign up with an affiliate marketing program, which is usually owned by an online merchant or retailer, and start picking the products you want to promote. As an affiliate, you are paid by the merchant for your services on a commission basis, that is whenever you have directed a visitor to the merchant’s site and the visitor actually buys something.
Becoming an affiliate in an affiliate marketing program is often quick and easy, and for most affiliate programs, signing up is also free. But despite these and all the benefits being promised by affiliate programs, many people are still hesitant to get into affiliate marketing. One of the reasons why a lot of people remain hesitant is the lack of a website to start marketing his affiliate products with. This now leads us to the question of whether a website is required or necessary in affiliate marketing or not.
Many people say that one can do affiliate marketing even without a website to start with. Actually, one can really start promoting and marketing his affiliate products even without a website; and there exist a lot of ways on how this can be done. In fact, many affiliate marketing strategies that leads to success can exist without actually needing a website. Among these strategies are email marketing, offline promotions, writing e-books, writing ezines and engaging in online discussions like forums, chats, message boards and others.
*Email Marketing
Email marketing, or maintaining email lists, is actually the most popular affiliate marketing strategy that doesn’t require the affiliate to maintain a website. In this affiliate marketing strategy, what you basically do is maintain a list of the email ads of your prospective customers and provide them with articles that are relevant with the affiliate products and programs you are promoting. Articles that you provide your contacts with need not always be promotional, for many individuals find such types of email annoying. Rather, it would be better if you provide them with something informative and just add small text ads that link to your merchant’s site.
*Offline Promotion
There are many ways on how you can promote your affiliate products offline. Among the common medium used for such promotions are classified ads, brochures and flyers. Classified ads would generally work better compared to the other two because classified ads in periodicals often get a wider audience.
*Writing Free e-books
If you have a knack in writing, writing an e-book can be the best way for you to promote your affiliate products in the absence of an actual website. Just like in emails and newsletters, your readers would better appreciate your e-book if it is not too promotional but rather informative. Be sure, however, to make the contents of your e-books relative to the actual affiliate products you are promoting. And just like in email marketing, you can just place text ads or banners somewhere near the end of your e-book that links to the merchant’s site.
*Writing Free Ezines
Ezines are publications or articles that aim to inform individuals about a particular topic. If you don’t have a website and yet want to be an affiliate, you can well use ezines to promote your affiliate products or to insert links to your merchant’s site. If you have a website, your ezine article may actually work well as content for your site. But since you have no website, you can just submit your free ezine articles to various websites that hosts ezines, like goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com and others.
*Online discussions (Forums, Chats, Message Boards, etc.)
With or without a website, you just can’t ignore online discussions because they are great venues for marketing your affiliate products. In chats, forums, message boards and discussion boards with topics related to your products, you can easily find people who may be interested with the products you are promoting.
With all these strategies, it may appear that one really doesn’t need to have a website to start marketing his affiliate products and promoting his affiliate programs. Well, starting in an affiliate program without a website may be easy, but getting successful in affiliate marketing without a website is another thing. While one can actually gain enormous success in affiliate marketing even without a website, it is a rare instance that “newbies” like you can reach the same levels of success.
Having a website is not really a pre-requisite in entering into an affiliate program, unless otherwise the program owner would require you to have one. But while this is so, I would still recommend that you have for yourself a website, if not now, then maybe at a later time. Having a website creates a lot of advantages in affiliate marketing. For one, it provides you a place where you can creatively promote not only one of your affiliate products but all of your affiliate products. With a website, you can also advertise your affiliate products to a wider market.
Again, having a website is not a requirement in affiliate marketing. But with the advantages that a website can provide, I’d rather have one for myself and make affiliate marketing a lot easier for me.

Double Opt in Email Lists?
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Nov.28, 2010, under Building a List
Double Opt in
Double opt in email lists are nothing more than an ezine or email newsletter that allows people to sign, up using your opt in form or by sending an email to the software that manages your opt in list.
Traffic to your website Webinar.
Why is that different from an ordinary opt-in list? The difference is anyone who subscribes through double opt in email lists must confirm their request to subscribe to your list twice.
The first time a subscriber usually opts in is when they give you their name and email address from a web based form. Once the initial request to join is received, software or your opt-in list management system like Aweber.com sends a confirmation email to the address the person entered as their email address. Users must then confirm their subscription by clicking the link provided in the email to affirm they agree to join your newsletter or ezine.
This is why the process is called double opt-in. People literally opt into your list twice. Once as an initial agreement to sign up then again to confirm their desire to be included on your list.
Why have people opt-in twice? Many marketers feel this process is mandatory to a business owner’s success. Double opt in email lists confirms that someone entering his or her email address is genuinely interested in receiving your newsletter or other publication. The extra confirmation also verifies you have the correct email address.
By confirming a consumer is really interested in signing up for your list, you can rest assured the chances are very high you are getting high-quality prospects. These are people that are very likely to buy from you in the future because they have a solid interest in what you have to offer.
When you don’t offer a double opt-in option, a person can go on your website, enter another person’s email address and leave. Then the person receiving your confirmation email and following ezines will think they are being spammed, and may report you for spamming.
You don’t want to upset someone accidentally, so your best bet is to protect your interests and those of your clients by providing the double opt-in list choice.
A single opt-in list leaves more opportunity for subscribers that won’t respond to your ezines because they will think they are Spam. So it’s important that you confirm that people signing up, genuinely have an interest in your newsletter or ezine. If they don’t you will never be able to sell then anything.

Ezines The Different Types
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Nov.22, 2010, under Hans Kristian Anderson
Ezines
There are various formats and types that you can go with when designing ezines, and of there are also different choice of selling advertising and scheduling as well to think about.
First, you must pick a market. If you have your own product already, then start an ezine in that market to help promote your product and future products.
If you do not have a market to publish in yet, don’t worry, you don’t need a product to start an ezine.
But you must still pick a market. After that, you just need to set up a publishing schedule of some sort and pick a format.
Here are the setups that work!
- Schedule
I suggest you send out an ezine with a 3-5 page article of good information about once or twice per month at the least with once per week being the most.
That is all you need to send. A good formula is to send out one week with a 3-5 page article, and the next week with a solo advertisement for something you want to promote.
Then the week after that send another 3-5 page article on something your subscribers want to know about, etc
So just alternate between content and an ad, it will be very successful.
I do not suggest sending out 2 ads per week (unless you are launching a product that week, so you very rarely do more then one ad per week) or even lots of content a few times a week.
Simply emailing your list more then once per week is normally too much.
The only way this works is if your ezine is actually built around a daily schedule.
For instance, “A Joke-A-Day” style ezines are actually quite popular with office workers as they get a new joke (or funny picture or whatever) everyday and may actually be looking forward to it!
But I’m not really talking about those types of ezines in this report. I want you to focus on a content driven ezine that can help build your business and be a reliable source of income for you.
- Format
There are three different types of formats that you can use when publishing your ezine that work.
- Put the entire ezine in an email
Just put the introduction, short ad blurb and article all in one email and send it out to all of my subscribers.
This is the easiest way to do things as it doesn’t require much editing.
You can also send it out as text and not an HTML page as those can still cause problems with some email readers.
- PDF File
Another popular option is put your article in a PDF downloadable file and then send an email to your list telling them where they can download the file.
This has the added benefit of people being able to save it to their computer and view it later (more views means more people will click on the links in your ezine which means more traffic for you)
This also has an added benefit of a viral effect. You can put at the bottom (or top if you really want to stress it) of your ezine that they can pass the PDF file to their friends or make it downloadable on their web site or blog.
This can help introduce your ezine to people who are not yet subscribed to it. And of course, if your content is good and they like your ezine, they can go subscribe!
A PDF file format is certainly a decent option if you like the idea there are a l
- HTML Page
The last option is an HTML page where you put your ezine issue on your web site as a regular HTML page, then email your subscribers and give them the link to the latest issue.
This has the same benefit as the PDF file where people can refer their friends, or link to it from their own web site or blog which can generate more subscribers for you.
And it has an additional benefit of being able to use HTML in your ezine if you wanted to do more interactive content like pictures, flash animations or even video.
Which brings me to my next point, video and audio.
If you can add these to your free ezine to explain your articles/ideas, I cannot see why it wouldn’t attract subscribers.
People are drawn to entertaining videos (just look at youtube.com’s success) so adding these to your free ezine could certainly help its success!
- How to structure your ezine
There is a certain format that you can follow that accomplishes quite a few things.
Here it is:
- Greeting with a short introduction on what this issues article will be about..
- A short ad on a product that you are recommending
- The article
- Your resource box
- A list of helpful links
- Subscriber information

What You Must Know To Help Grow Your Affiliate Business
by Internet Marketing Online on Jun.08, 2010, under Affiliate Marketing
The largest failure in associate marketing is not collecting prospects’ e-mails. If you just send out your prospective buyers to your affiliate internet site, you are marketing someone else’s business enterprise, not your own. Your goal should be not to only sell affiliate products, but to originate your own business. Just in case you would like an in depth tips guide to internet marketing you could take a glance at Epic Traffic Systems Bonus package for a lot more specifics.
One method you could use to build an affiliate business.
Check out this video titled, “Traffic Generator Time Saving Tip” from FantasticInternetMarketingTips.com
1. Utilize a lead-capture page.
Set About your own web site and establish a default page. Don’t compose a sales letter for your affiliate product. Alternatively, set up an e-mail course concentrating on the strongest benefits of your merchandise. Explain the benefits of your product in a short promotional letter that’s designed for one thing only, to get people to sign up to your course. Then, in your course, popularize your associate merchandise. The value in this technique is that you are basically building a direct selling business and benefiting from your own consumers.
2. Build your own list.
Spend your time, effort, and money pushing centered traffic to your internet site. You can never underestimate the long term value in creating your own email lists. Keep establishing it. Expend at least 65% of your time in constructing your subscriber list. Are you are looking for a method to boost targeted traffic to your website and boost your web based profit effectively? You can check out Joey Smith, Jon Shugart and Keith Baxter information at Epic Traffic Systems Review.
3. Re-invest in your commercial enterprise.
When you are making a sale, compliment yourself! Hold some of the gains and spend them on yourself. Take your other half to dinner, go to a flick, or purchase some other internet merchandising ebook! But your aim should be to spring up your business concern. You must take at least 60% of your earnings and reinvest them into your commercial enterprise. How? By buying more ezine advertisements, bringing different ppc drive, or using another sort of advertisement. Perhaps you could buy an ebook with reprinting rights instead of selling affiliate merchandise that way you preserve all the net income.
4. Keep On promoting to your list.
You should usually be looking out for fresh products to push. If you find one, compose another email serial publications, send it through your auto-responder, and keep on advertising to your list. Concentrate on setting up at least one fresh product and series on your auto responder each month. Some will get bored of the info you send off and unsubscribe, but if you are concentrated on building your list you will always have lots more customers for each unsubscribe you receive.
If you abide by these measures, your affiliate business will develop into a very profitable direct promoting business enterprise. With regard to even further material about internet marketing as well as affiliate marketing specialist techniques.
