Make sure you optimize your articles by using titles tags, H1, H2, H3 tags, etc. just like you would optimize the pages on your website.
When you are exchanging articles the anchor text to the actual article should have your keywords and key phrases and be relevant to your niche site.
It is important that the link be the actual phrase you are trying to get ranked in the search engines.
