Write Press Releases
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Feb.25, 2010, under Search Engine Optimization
A very valuable and free way to drive traffic to you’re website is through press releases.
When you write a press release you include links to you’re website and because PR services archive you’re press release you get long term search engine optimization (SEO) benefits.
Don’t make you’re press release read like a sales letter. When you write a press release make it read like a newspaper article or story. Always include keyword and phrases related to you’re niche website or niche market.
Potential visitors are directed to you’re website by you’re contact information and website links.
Press release sites distribute you’re press release to the media and consumers by the hundreds. Press releases are a great way to get one way links to your site.
There are many press release services available; here is a view to get you started. i-newswire.com, prlog.com, pressexposure.com

Forum Posting or Posting Message Board
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Feb.17, 2010, under Traffic Tactics
When you participate in forums, message boards and online discussions with useful or helpful comments you can help build your website as a credible resource. Quite often many message boards have a spot in your personal profile where you can put a link to your homepage.
Traditional word of mouth marketing is still effective, and many people like to share useful or interesting links with like minded people. Another thing to remember is that many forum pages have a high PR, so when you place a link to your website in your profile signature you automatically help to boost your own site’s Page Rank!

Take Out The Garbage
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Nov.16, 2009, under Hans Kristian Anderson
After you have been posting to your blog for awhile, you will start receiving comments to your posts.
Most of the comments will be good quality comments from people who actually read your posts.
Make sure you respond to the comments that are left, it is after all, the polite thing to do.
When someone leaves a comment, quite often they leave a URL to their website or blog. This helps to generate back links to their site and potentially, business for them.
People leave comments on my posts and I don’t have a problem with that, in fact, I encourage it. It doesn’t have to be a big elaborate comment, it can be as simple as, “nice post, I couldn’t agree with you more”. On the other hand, feel free to disagree with my post, if you feel that way. Every website or blog owner is different. For the most part, just leave good relevant and tasteful comments.
I moderate the comments that are left on my blog; I either approve or delete them. I’ve received comments with no relevant content that were nothing more then gibberish nonsense; a sad blatant attempt to generate back links. I’ve had comments with just a website address or the same comments on different posts (probably on automation). I’ve even had a comment left, that informed me, that it was not spam and then continued with a partial question about ring tones. This same comment left three different web addresses and said I would be an ass if I deleted it; I deleted it.
Can you believe the audacity of someone to attempt to intimidate someone through the “comments” section? Unbelievable.
If you are new to internet marketing and you leave comments on blogs or websites, please leave good relevant and tasteful comments. Moderate the comments left on your blog or website. It only takes one finger on one button to take out the garbage.
