TIPS ON HOW TO CREATE AN EFFECTIVE RESOURCE BOX
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Feb.20, 2010, under Article Writing
Think of this post as part 2 to the post I wrote earlier titled Resource Box.
A resource box is extremely important for your article marketing. I’m going to give you some effective tips to help create an excellent resource box that will help increase your website’s traffic and therefore enhance your sales.
1- Having relevant links is very important so make sure you use links to a website that matches the article content you wrote about. It also should not have links to website that are not yours. If you have several websites make sure the article content matches the website you are linking to. In other words if you write an article about vitamins don’t put a link in the resource box to a dog grooming website. ( A little long winded but I think you get the point)
2- Have a call to action message in your resource box that will give readers a good reason to visit your site. While they are there they may browse your website and find a product that they are interested in buying. Basically your offering bait. Make an offer that is appealing and has benefit to your readers. (look for my 98 page free 750 Traffic Tactics report coming out this week)
3- An author bio should not contain irrelevant information and be long and boring. As mentioned earlier irrelevant links along with any long winded achievements (Don’t be patting yourself on the back) and needless advertisements…should be avoided. Give your readers a reason to want to visit your website.

Importance of The Resource box
by Hans Kristian Anderson on Oct.16, 2009, under Article Writing
When an article is published it will normally describe the product or topic in detail. At the bottom of the article you will find or should find that it contains a resource box, which is a kind of signature that describes who created the article.
A resource box can also be referred to as a signature box, which holds the authors bio and links that generally connect to a blog or website. You will always find a resource box or signature box provided for you by the article directories, for articles that you wrote to be submitted to article directories. (Side bar; using a article submitter can make submitting article to directories a whole lot easier)
A good resource box or signature box should include your name, your website address your unique selling proposition and a call to action (to attract people to buy your product). However, quite often it generates very little traffic due to an inefficient resource box.
Two of the main problems are;
1. The resource box contains irrelevant links, when it should contain links back to your website. This is necessary when readers like your article they may want to read more about what you have written. This will also build one way links back to your site, increasing your
Quite often people use irrelevant links for various reasons which ends up sending potential traffic away from their website.
2. The lack of a good reason to click on your website link is another reason. Quite frequently readers need a good reason other then the content of the article or even the product itself to attract them to your website.
Basically they want to know what the advantage is to them to visit your website. Give them a reason, describe a free report or discount that is available when they visit your website. The thought of something free can be reason enough for readers to check out your website and generate more traffic.
The goal is to drive traffic to your website, so make sure you put some thought and effort into the resource box or signature box if you prefer and don’t just throw it together.
