Have you ever thought about what it would be like if you could copy the seo campaigns of your largest competitors? What do you think would happen to your website if you could achieve the first page Google rankings of some of the larger sites?

The fact of the matter is that you can copy the strategies of your biggest competitors. You can do exactly what they do well while at the same time continuing to focus on what you do better . This article will go through all the basics of researching other sites back linking strategies . I’ll even give you some tips on how to copy some of the very same strategies to add to your seo package.

Firstly, you need to download the fire fox browser and the seo quake add on. You can do this by visiting Mozilla’s website. After downloading the add on, you will need to restart your browser to allow it to function properly.

Following this you should identify who your competitors are by doing some basic searches for your most competitive keywords. Type in the searches that you do not rank well for but would like to rank well for. Click into any one of these sites to get started on your analysis.

Now that you are on the web page that you would like to analyze, take note of the new seo quake add ons in the top of your browser. You will want to look at the number next to the big G, this is the page rank of the page. Page rank is not the determining factor for search engine page ranking, but it is a good way to get a feel for the web site you are on.

Next look at the second big G to the right of the first G. There will be a number there that will tell you how many of this sites web pages are listed in Google’s search engine. The large Y to the right of this G is the same thing except it is Yahoo’s web page listings for your site. Large quantities of a site’s web pages found in the search engines usually mean powerful internal link juice. You’ll need to note that you may need more pages if you are going to compete with a large website.

The next key area to analyze is the external links that this website has going to it. You will never be able to figure out the total number of links a website has, but you will be able to analyze many of them. Click into the Y that says Yahoo links. This will not only tell you how many external links Yahoo is listing this site as having, but it will also give you the exact pages that these links are coming from.

You now know just where this website is getting its links from. Niche directories, forums, and blogs that this website is posting in are now available to you to link from. Make note of any .edus or .govs that link to this website, you will definitely want to try to get links from these as well.

6 – Blog entries; Every time you post an entry in your blog, always make sure that you link it back to your website, if you have one. You can also create more than one blog, and have a link to the main website.

7 – Keywords;On all of your profiles on the internet, use necessary keywords and link back to your website.

8 -Commenting;Leave comments on blogs, and leave a link to your website at the bottom. This can build traffic quite well.

9 – Yahoo! answers; Answer people’s queries on Yahoo! and place a link at the bottom, to your website.

10 – Link Exchange partnership; You can put your website’s link on another good relevant website, and allow the webmaster of that website to place a link on yours.

Even though these quick traffic strategies are quite small (that’s why I called them quick) they can be very beneficial in driving traffic to your site.
